Politics continue in the Parliamentary Select Committee Negotiations on Kenya’s Draft Constitution. ODM’s backing down on the structure of the executive, plus courting Martha Karua, mean that there are some major changes to come in the devolution chapter.
Given all of the give and take that is happening at this bipartisan meeting, you would think that the nasty politics of 2005 would be averted, but I’m also cautious of getting my hopes up. I’m excited to see what comes out of the discussions of the devolution section.
And yes, I realize that I’m a huge nerd about Kenyan politics. Deal.
