Politics continue in the Parliamentary Select Committee Negotiations on Kenya’s Draft Constitution. ODM’s backing down on the structure of the executive, plus courting Martha Karua, mean that there are some major changes to come in the devolution chapter.

Given all of the give and take that is happening at this bipartisan meeting, you would think that the nasty politics of 2005 would be averted, but I’m also cautious of getting my hopes up.  I’m excited to see what comes out of the discussions of the devolution section.

And yes, I realize that I’m a huge nerd about Kenyan politics.  Deal.

Kenyan news always cracks me up a little bit, but the neon swimsuits and lion sound effect really push this one over the top. I didn’t make either of those up.

Given that my new project is on Kenyan local governments, the winner=me.

As I was going through my parents’ audio cassette collection, I discovered an old favorite- “Merry Christmas from The Beach Boys”.  However, once I started listening to it, bad/good things started to happen, depending on your optimal ratio of Beach Boys to beach noise.
